[PhD position in Grenoble] Towards new energy technologies: electromechanical couplings in nanoconfined electrolytes

Dear colleagues,

I would like to share an offer for a funded PhD position at the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de Physique, Grenoble, starting in fall 2023. The PhD student will be supervised by Romain Lhermerout, Benjamin Cross and Elisabeth Charlaix.

This experimental project aims at a better fundamental understanding of the physics of nanoconfined electrolytes, with possible applications for energy storage and harvesting. To this end, we propose to combine electrical and mechanical measurements on an electrolyte that is confined at the nanoscale. This original approach will shed new light on electrokinetic phenomena, namely on how electric and fluid transport are coupled in such systems.
