We are offering one PhD position in the Copermix project (ITN MSCA project) on mixing in granular materials (https://www.copermix-itn.eu/) starting as soon as possible or in September 2022.

Rule: The student (French or foreign) should not have spent more than 12 months in France in the last 3 years. ( For example, only one year of master in France is OK)

Mixing in granular media:
A physical point of view of the dispersion of grains in a 2D experimental system. The rheology of granular materials
provides challenges compared to the mixing in classical Newtonian fluids for which theoretical advances have been made.
For example the diffusive movements of the grains are not due to thermal agitation like in fluids but are due to the shear itself.
This important difference will lead to a new description a homogenization of the granular matter inspired by the fundamental
approaches for fluids.
We are looking for a good students, in physics or mechanical engineering, interested in experimental works.
